A letter from your Captain
Dear Members of the Club,
As you are aware Covid -19 has had wide ranging effects on society over the last 6 weeks. And this is likely to continue in the months to come.
The Club Manager, with support from myself and the committee, has spent many hours working tirelessly on behalf of the members to keep the club going during these times. Speaking to the bank, suppliers, government departments about getting payments deferred and reduced for as long as possible and securing any funding we can for the club. That being said there is only so much we can do with no income. I want to be frank and honest with the membership about our current position and by the end of July we will be around £80,000 down on income, however with the business grant we have obtained from the government and money reclaimed through the furlough scheme, we will be looking at a loss of around £30,000.00.
We need the support of our members at this time if the club is to survive and prosper once this pandemic has been reduced enough for society to return to the “new norm”. Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club is a member owned club and the members will determine whether we exist beyond this time.
As a committee we have looked at several options to raise funds to see the club through this and we are continuing to do so on a daily basis, The initial options we would like to put to the membership are as follows; however, if we do not raise the amount of money required then a levy on all members of the club is likely.
10 Year Membership – “The Forvie Club” With this you will secure 10 years of membership at a reduced rate and guaranteed fixed cost, 10% off shop clothing, club polo shirt or jumper embroidered with “The 10 Club” on the sleeve and 10 Guest vouchers per year to be used as you wish.
Cost of this will be £5000* and is limited to 5 memberships on first come first served basis and will be available till 5th June 2020
3 Year Membership – With this you will secure 3 years of membership at a reduced rate and guaranteed fixed cost, 10% off shop clothing and 6 Guest vouchers per year to be used as you wish.
Cost of this membership will be £1500* and is limited to 10 memberships on first come first served basis and will be available till 5th June 2020
* does not include SGU fees or levy.

With the above on offer we hope that everyone will pull together for the club and not only help it get through these extremely challenging times but come out of it in a good position to grow in 2021.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for their messages of support and for their help during what has been an extremely worrying and challenging time for us all.
